1.
Wash the bite with soap and water
2.
hold on gauze pad until bleeding stops
3.
apply an anticeptic to the wound
4.
tell your parents or other adult
5.
talk to a doctor
*note
you'll need to contact animal control right away so they can catch and
watch the animal for rabies.
If you get bitten by a tick:
1.
Do not brush, burn, or try to pull the tick loose
2.
cover it with petroleum jelly-this will suffocate it and
it should break free within thirty minutes
3.
If the tick does not leave or fall off, slowly remove
it with tweezers. Take care not to break off the head.
4.
After the tick is gone, wash down the area with soap
and water letting it soak for five minutes.
5.
Apply an anesthetic and band aid
6.
Watch for any swelling, imflamation, or fever. If you
get any of these contact your doctor immediately,
ticks carry many diseases.
If you get stung by a bee:
1.
Remove any stinger
2.
Run cold water over the sting. This will not only
relieve the pain but also slow down absorption of
poison.
3.
If you are allergic to bee stings find an adult and
explain. You may need to go to the hospital or take
medication. It would be wise to wear a allergy alert
bracelet.
4.
Apply an ice pack
5.
dissolve a small amount of baking soda in cool water
and soak the sting.
6.
You can apply calamine lotion or anesthetic cream
to relieve itching.
